Boston, June 1, 2023 – beheard.world  is one of 150 local nonprofits that will share in $30 million through Cummings Foundation’s major annual grants program. The Boston-based organization was selected from a total of 630 applicants during a competitive review process. It will receive $90,000 over three years for the Project TMI Teen Entrepreneurial and Leadership Program.

The mission of Project Teach Mentor Inspire (TMI)  program is to improve social, health, and financial outcomes in underserved minority and immigrant communities in Boston, MA.  This is done through educating, motivating and inspiring youth and young adults to advance themselves academically,  develop healthy lifestyles, and broaden their career and social aspirations.  “Our programs focus on developing future leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, and change agents that are needed in our communities.”

We are thrilled that Project TMI youth education program will receive $90,000 over the next three years to implement its highly successful Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy program to teenagers living in Boston's public housing developments.

"The funding that we receive from The Cummings Foundation will help expand Project TMI Teen Entrepreneurial and Financial Literacy program to communities where underserved young people need to learn how to build businesses and manage money, for the promise of a brighter future” said Ms. Etienne-Campbell, the program’s director. "We are grateful to the Cummings Foundation, which has helped hundreds of nonprofits impact local area communities over the years."
